New Delhi: The Indian Embassy in Israel has issued an advisory advising Indian nationals to exercise extreme caution and avoid unnecessary travel within the country due to the escalating tensions in the region. The advisory underscores the importance of staying vigilant and remaining close to safety shelters.

The Embassy is actively monitoring the situation and remains in regular contact with Israeli authorities to ensure the safety and security of all Indian nationals residing in the country. The advisory provides emergency contact details for the Embassy, including a 24/7 helpline with the numbers +972-547520711 and +972-543278392, as well as an email address: consi.telaviv@mea.gov.in.

The increased tensions follow the recent killing of senior Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr by Israeli forces, which Israel claimed was in retaliation for an attack on the Golan Heights that resulted in the deaths of 12 children. Additionally, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported the death of Hamas military wing commander Mohammed Deif in an airstrike on July 13. On the same day, Hamas’ political leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Tehran, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that the country has dealt significant blows to its adversaries in recent days. This statement came shortly after the deaths of both Haniyeh and Shukr.
