Kanpur: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has arrived in Kanpur to attend the inaugural ‘Swar Sangam Ghosh’ camp. Bhagwat, who arrived here on Saturday for a two-day tour, addressed the Valmiki Samaj at Nanarao Park.

On Sunday, Bhagwat reached Maharishi Valmiki’s birth anniversary program organised at Nana Rao Park. He paid homage by garlanding the statue of Valmiki installed in the park. He garlanded the statue of many great men including Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.

Mohan Bhagwat said that Valmiki Samaj should try to contribute with dedication in the upliftment of the country by visiting the Sangh’s shakhas and contacting the volunteers. He said that we have to take a pledge to move forward, leaving aside all the evils that exist in societies of the country including Valmiki society.

Bhagwat, the president of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), extended greetings on Valmiki Jayanti on Sunday, saying the day is essential for anybody who aspires to be a human person. Read Valmiki Ramayan, which discusses the character of Lord Ram, if you wish to develop affinity. It is a critical and proud occasion for everybody who aspires to be a better human being, RSS president Mohan Bhagwat said at a public meeting in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Anyone who feels this kinship and want to remain united might even sit over a tamarind leaf, he continued, referencing a Bengali adage.

Bhagwat stated that the engagement of the entire society, rather than simply individuals, is required. People in society must learn from Maharishi Valmiki the values of compassion, devotion, and obligation. Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar made a law in the constitution to grant rights to society, but nothing will happen unless a law is formed. It is essential in our minds to be determined to move the country and ourselves ahead.

Bhagwat will address over 5,000 volunteers from 21 districts in Kanpur on Monday at the Swar Sangam Ghosh camp. Meanwhile, he will meet with volunteers and office bearers at Deendayal Upadhyay School to discuss future plans.

He arrived in Kanpur Central Station by Howrah Rajdhani Express from New Delhi and was brought to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Sanatan Dharma Vidyalaya, where he spent the night. The five-day ‘Swar Sangam Ghosh’ camp (the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s annual musical band camp) began on Thursday at Deendayal Upadhyaya Sanatan Dharma Vidyalaya and VSSD College. A large police force has been deployed in the city. According to Anand Prakash Tiwari, Joint CP Law and order, intelligence agencies have also been put on high alert.
