New Delhi: The Supreme Court will today hear the bail application of a Malayali newspaper journalist Siddiq Kappan, arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit the Hathras violence.
The bail application of Siddiqui, who is facing charges under the UAPA, was rejected by the Allahabad High Court on August 2. After this, Kappan has approached the Supreme Court. Kappan has been in jail for the last two years. Kappan is the secretary of the Delhi unit of the Kerala union of Journalists. Kappan was arrested in October 2020 while on his way to cover the Hathras gangrape.
