SC flays Nupur Sharma for her ‘loose tongue

New Delhi: The Supreme Court harshly criticised former BJP leader Nupur Sharma on Friday after she sparked a controversy with her comments about the Prophet and claimed that her loose talk had ignited the entire nation. The SC bench noted that her outburst was to blame for the unfortunate incident in Udaipur.

Nupur Sharma submitted a transfer request to the Supreme Court on Friday morning. Sharma requested in her application that all legal proceedings against her in various states be moved to Delhi because her life is in danger due to constant threats. Nupur Sharma claimed that she frequently receives death threats from various states.

The Supreme Court bench stated that it was too late in the day to retract her apology and comments on Prophet.

Sharma was criticised for her stubbornness and haughtiness by the court, who claimed that because she is a party spokesperson, power has corrupted Sharma.

The Supreme Court went on to say that since all religious people respect all religions, these individuals are not religious.

The Supreme Court described her as having a completely loose tongue, saying, She makes all careless claims while claiming to be a lawyer with ten years of experience. She ought to extend her regrets to the entire nation
