PM gifts development projects worth ₹3,580 cr to Junagadh

Junagadh/New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth ₹3,580 crore in Junagadh.

Addressing the public meeting on this occasion, Modi said that Gujarat is developing at a fast pace due to the efforts of the BJP’s double-engine government. Gujarat has scaled new heights of progress. He said that on Wednesday the foundation stone of various projects has been laid which will benefit lakhs of citizens.

He said that the sweetness of saffron of Junagadh is famous all over the world. Junagadh, Gir Somnath and Porbandar are the strengths of the tourism sector of Gujarat. The Prime Minister said that after 2001, there has not been a single drought.

Earlier, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the improvement of coastal highways along with the construction of missing links. In the first phase of this project, a total highway length of more than 270 kms will be covered in 13 districts.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for two water supply projects in Junagadh and construction of a godown complex for storage of agricultural produce. He also laid the foundation stone for the overall development of Shri Krishna Rukmani Temple, Madhavpur at Porbandar. Apart from this, the foundation stone of sewage and water supply projects and maintenance dredging at Porbandar Fishery Harbour was also laid. Modi laid the foundation stone for two projects at Gir Somnath, including the development of a fishing port at Madhavad.
