Matt Mason appointed fast bowling coach of England women’s cricket team

London: Former Australian first-class cricketer Matt Mason has been appointed as the fast bowling coach of the England women’s cricket team.

Matt Mason has been appointed as the fast bowling coach of the England women’s cricket team, the England Cricket Board (ECB) said in a statement.

The 48-year-old, who has taken over 400 wickets in a professional career spanning 15 years, Mason is a highly regarded coach in men’s cricket. He has served in similar roles in Warwickshire, Western Australia, Perth Scorchers, Leicestershire and Worcestershire.

Mason spent nine years at Worcestershire – and was part of that coaching staff when he won the County Championship’s second division in 2017. He recently played a key role in helping Perth Scorchers win the BBL title in 2021/22.

Jonathan Finch, Director of England Women’s Cricket, said: We are absolutely delighted to have a caliber like Matt. He was a very strong candidate for the role and we look forward to seeing what he new in the England women’s cricket team. bring.
