Mansa (Punjab), Punjab’s Mansa took a dip in the past as it remembered the famous Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popular by the stage name Sidhu Moosewala. A tribute meet reminiscing the singer turned politician was organised on March 19 as the family celebrated Sidhu’s ‘Barsi’.

The ‘Barsi’ was celebrated amid the Punjab Police’s massive crackdown against Khalistan sympathizer Amritpal Singh. A sea of fans turned out to attend the meet as they collectively recalled the unfortunate killing of Moosewala that took place last year on May 29.

From a statue to the recreation of the vehicle involved, the meet left no stones unturned in paying tribute to the singer. Moosewala was shot dead in Mansa a day after the Punjab government reduced his security amid continuous death threats.

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi along with his Canada-based aide Goldy Brar were named behind the murder. Moosewala’s untimely death left millions of his fans heartbroken as the singer left too soon.
