IMD forecasts dry but chilly conditions for Kashmir for the next 48 hours

Kashmir valley is facing harsh winter conditions since the beginning of Chilia-e-Kalan, a 40-day period of intense cold, that began on December 21.

As per the local unit of the MET department, Srinagar city recorded its coldest night of the season as the mercury dipped to minus 5.5 degrees Celcius. The dip in the temperature has led to the freezing of Dal lake in several places.

Famous tourist spots Pahalgam and Gulmarg recorded minimum temperatures of minus 6.8 and minus 5.2 degrees Celcius respectively.

The MET department has forecast dry but chilly weather conditions for the next 48 hours across the valley.
