Prayagraj: With 91 arrests so far and tightening the noose around mastermind’s family, the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) razed the residence of Mohammed Javed ‘Pump’, the mastermind of Friday’s unrest.
“A police team and a JCB machine arrived at the Kareli police station about 10.30 am, and demolished Mohammed Javed’s residence in JK Ashiyana locality began at 1 pm, according to a top PDA official, adding that the home was erected without having its map approved by the PDA.
On May 10, he was served with a notice and directed to furnish his reply on May 24. Javed and his lawyer did not appear on the scheduled day. Because no documentation was given in this respect, demolition orders were issued on May 25.
Speaking to HS, SSP Ajay Kumar said, “Two illegal pistols, several cartridges, objectionable literature and posters have been seized from Mohammed Javed house. The demolition of Javed’s residence is part of the PDA action plan. The cops were present to keep the law and order situation under control. It has nothing to do with police. The case filed against him is distinct… We’re not connecting it to the Friday incident. The PDA may have decided it was appropriate to do so today, and they should explain why the delay in action, when orders for demolition was issued on May 25.”
The PDA had sent Javed with a notice dated June 10, stating: This is to tell you that you have erected a building in violation of the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973 under the Kareli police station.
On the ground and first floors, a 25×60 foot structure was built without authority. On May 10, 2022, you were served with a notice requesting a response. The hearing date in the notice was set for May 24, 2022. However, you were not present and did not submit any papers. The demolition order was issued on May 25, 2022, and you were instructed to provide information after dismantling the property by June 9, 2022, which you did not do. As a result, you have been advised to vacate the house by June 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. so that demolition action can be commenced
