Jaipur: With widespread outrage in the country over the brutal murder of Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur by two Muslim radicals, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday met the victims’s family and assured them of his full support.
Thousands of people had gathered at Kanhaiya Lal’s funeral on Wednesday and expressed their outrage by shouting slogans,hang the killers!
Several organisations, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), have called for a rally and a market bandh in Udaipur to protest the murder. As a result, security has been beefed up throughout the city and curfew imposed in seven police station areas.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Riyaz and Ghous Mohammad, who were arrested for the murder, are being interrogated.
It is being determined how they are related to one another and who else was involved in the murder case. In addition, the accused’s Pakistani ties are being investigated.
