SRINAGAR: The Army on Friday paid tributes to Rifleman Kulbhushan Manta (27), who was martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Lt Gen ADS Aujla, GOC Chinar Corps, on behalf of all ranks, on Friday paid tributes to Rifleman Kulbhushan Manta, who made the supreme sacrifice in an encounter with terrorists in a joint operation by Army and J&K Police at Vashran village on October 27.
An anti-terror operation was launched on Wednesday, in which one terrorist was caught alive.
Martyr Rifleman Kulbhushan Manta suffered gunshot wounds and was airlifted to 92 Base Hospital, Srinagar. Not suffering serious injuries, the brave soldier breathed his last at 12.30 pm on Thursday.
Hailing from a village in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla district, Manta joined the Army in 2014. His family consists of his wife.
An army spokesman said that the body of martyr Rifleman Kulbhushan Manta is being taken to his native place for last rites. Where he will be cremated with full military honours.
