Agneepath notification issued amid heavy protests, registration will start from July

New Delhi:  Indian Army on Monday released a notification for the recruitment of ‘Agnivar’ under Agneepath Recruitment Schemes. This notification has come amid the ongoing protests against the scheme across the country. According to this notification, the registration will start in July. According to this notification issued by the Indian Army, 10th and 8th pass youth can also apply in it.  

The registration will be opened by the respective Army Recruiting Offices (AROs) from July for Agniveer General Duty, Agniveer Technical, Agniveer Technical (Aviation / Ammunition Examiner), Agniveer Clerk / Store Keeper Technical, Agniveer Tradesman (10th pass) and Agniveer.

The terms and conditions of service, eligibility, discharge and other important information related to Agniveer Scheme have been outlined comprehensively in the notification released by the Indian Army.

As per the notification, the candidates will be enrolled under the Army Act 1950 to serve a period of four years including training period. Agniveer will not be eligible for any pension or gratuity.

The service of ‘Agniveer’ will start from the date of enrollment. They will form a separate rank in the army, separate from the other existing ranks. Leave, uniform, pay and allowances during the service period of four years shall be governed by the orders and directions issued from time to time by the Government of India (Government of India) in respect of such persons.

The ‘Agniveer’ will be responsible for any duties assigned in the organizational interest. The personnel enrolled under the scheme will have to undergo periodic medical check-up along with physical/written/field tests as ordered. The performance so demonstrated will be considered for the subsequent offer of enrollment in the regular cadre. Agniveers can be posted to any regiment/unit and transferred further in organizational interest.
