New Delhi: 802 projects worth five lakh 50 thousand crore rupees under the Sagarmala program are targeted to be executed by 2035 said Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. 202 projects worth over 99 thousand crore rupees have been completed, he added.

National Sagarmala Apex Committee today reviewed the progress of the Sagarmala program and deliberated on the various agenda in New Delhi. Several Union Ministers, the Chief Minister of Goa and Ministers from the Coastal States attended the meeting.

After the review meeting, Mr. Sonowal said, 29 projects worth 45 thousand crore rupees have been successfully implemented under the PPP model. Additionally, 32 PPP projects worth 51 thousand crore rupees are presently being implemented. He said, more than 200 projects worth more than two lakh crore rupees are under construction and expected to be completed in two years.

He said, the government is continuously working towards capacity augmentation of the ports and is also developing two mega cruise terminal projects through Sagarmala Scheme at Mumbai and Mormugao Port.
