Nakul Nath Files Nomination from Chhindwara, Asserts Confidence in Voters

The Bombay Tribune,Chindwara: Nakul Nath, a prominent Congress leader and son of former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, has officially entered the electoral arena by filing his nomination papers for the Chhindwara Parliamentary seat. Joined by his father, Nakul expressed confidence in the unwavering support of the Chhindwara electorate, emphasizing his familial bond with the constituency. He is the sole Congress representative from Madhya Pradesh and is seeking re-election in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. In a rival bid, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Vivek Bunty Sahu as its contender for the seat, with Sahu slated to submit his nomination on March 27. The political landscape in the region witnessed a significant shift recently when Syed Jafar, a close aide of Kamal Nath, defected to the BJP, underscoring the dynamic nature of state politics. The Chhindwara constituency, along with five others, will go to the polls in the first phase on April 19, marking the beginning of a crucial electoral process in Madhya Pradesh. Candidates have until March 27 to file their nominations, with the withdrawal deadline set for March 30. Madhya Pradesh is set to play a pivotal role in the initial four phases of the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections, scheduled for April 19, April 26, May 7, and May 13.
