Harnaaz Sandhu, who was overcome with emotion, fell during her last step on the Miss Universe 2022 stage. But in an instant, she was up on her feet and walking confidently and gracefully. Here is a link to the video.

Harnaaz Sandhu, who will crown USA’s R’Bonney Gabriel as the new Miss Universe in 2022, appeared overcome as she made her final walk. Loud applause greeted Harnaaz as she walked onto the platform, and the 2018 beauty pageant contestants heartily applauded her. She waved to the audience and folded her hands in namaste as tears streamed down her face.

Harnaaz stumbled as she made her way to the front of the stage to pose for the photographers. She quickly regained her equilibrium, though, and in little time at all she stopped walking and held herself back. To put it mildly, Harnaaz looked stunning in the stunning black gown. Harnaaz winning the 70th Miss Universe was a proud moment for India. After winning, she told IANS, “It’s just overwhelming and unbelievable. Finally, India is able to wear the crown of Miss Universe after 21 years, and I think we have been waiting for this for so long; the feeling is just out of this world.”

Talking about the opportunity and responsibilities she said, “Representing your country is a huge thing. It’s about the confidence, you need to have in yourself and the realization from within that this is the purpose of your life. You have to want to make the most of the platform and the opportunity that is given to you. We have to actually evolve a lot when we realize what we want to do with our life. With that faith, love, and all the prayers of the people from my country, it gave me the drive I needed to win.”

Harnaaz was mocked for gaining weight soon after she was crowned Miss Universe 2021. Sandhu later revealed that her weight fluctuation is caused by Celiac disease, a reaction to a Gluten protein found in wheat, barley, and rye that causes an immunological reaction that leads to weight gain.
