New Delhi: Congress leader and former Union Minister, Mani Shankar Aiyar, has sparked a new controversy at a public event in Delhi by referring to the 1962 Indo-China war as an “alleged Chinese invasion.” During a press conference on May 28, Aiyar remarked, “In October 1962, the Chinese allegedly invaded India.” Known for making contentious statements, Aiyar’s latest comment has once again put the Congress party in a difficult position. In the past, Aiyar has also suggested that India should engage in dialogue with Pakistan and show respect, citing their possession of nuclear weapons.
