Tel Aviv: Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz has condemned the Turkish Embassy in Tel Aviv for lowering its flag to half-mast in response to the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. Katz announced that he has directed the Foreign Ministry to summon the Deputy Turkish Ambassador for a serious reprimand, emphasizing that Israel will not tolerate mourning for what he describes as a “murderer.”

Katz stated, “The State of Israel will not tolerate expressions of mourning for a murderer like Ismail Haniyeh, who led Hamas in committing atrocities on October 7th.” He further suggested that if embassy representatives wish to mourn, they should do so in Turkey alongside President Erdogan, who is perceived as supportive of Hamas.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also commented, asserting that Israel has dealt significant blows to its adversaries recently, including the deaths of Haniyeh and senior Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr.

The Israeli military has released a video showing an airstrike in Gaza on July 13, which it claims killed Mohammed Deif, the head of Hamas’ military wing. This action was confirmed following an intelligence assessment. Hamas has yet to respond to these claims.
