Hyderabad: In a recent interaction in Hyderabad, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi expressed concern for Telangana’s youth, emphasizing their unmet expectations even after a decade of the state’s formation. Gandhi revealed the challenges faced by aspirants preparing for competitive exams, citing issues such as a lack of notifications, court cases, and paper leaks affecting around 30 lakh unemployed youths.
Criticizing the TRS government’s ten-year rule, Gandhi asserted that Telangana’s youth had borne the brunt of mismanagement. Despite the challenges, he commended their resilience and potential. To address the issue, he announced the Congress’s commitment to releasing a job calendar, aiming to fill 2 lakh government jobs within the first year if the party assumes power in Telangana.
This comes in the wake of the Telangana high court’s order to cancel preliminary exams for Group-1 services, raising concerns about the fairness of the recruitment process. Tragically, a TSPSC aspirant, Pravalika, allegedly took her own life in Ashok Nagar, attributing her decision to the uncertainty surrounding exam notifications. Opposition leaders, including Congress State Chief Revanth Reddy and BJP MP K Laxman, criticized the government’s handling of the situation.
As Telangana gears up for polls on November 30, the spotlight remains on the triangular contest among the TRS, BJP, and Congress. The fate of the state, especially concerning youth and employment, hangs in the balance, making it a crucial issue in the upcoming elections.
