PM Modi said that empowered farmers are critical for a flourishing nation in a tweet on Sunday while providing details of the benefits of several Central government programmes for farmers. PM Modi took to Twitter to say, “Our farmer brothers and sisters are revered throughout the country. New India will be more prosperous if the country’s farmers are given more control. I am pleased that the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi and other agricultural-related initiatives are providing new strength to millions of farmers across the country.”

According to infographics given by the Prime Minister with his tweet, the initiatives have directly benefited 11.3 crore farmers, who have received Rs 1.82 lakh crore in their accounts.
