New Delhi: When the Congress high command does not understand anything, regarding a region, state of locality’s politics, it forwards an old leader or any family member of theirs. This is exactly what happened in Himachal Pradesh where Congress high command made Pratibha Singh, wife of Late Virbhadra Singh, as the state president. It is being said that some responsibility can also be given to her son Vikramaditya Singh. This means that the party will fight the elections completely dependent on the family of Virbhadra Singh. Think, on the one hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party has put up a new leader in place of both the old satraps. Both Prem Kumar Dhumal and Shanta Kumar are away from power. But the Congress is still stuck in the family of Virbhadra Singh.
Keep in mind that after losing the election last time, Dhumal parted away from BJP politics. His son Anurag Thakur is a minister in the central government. Recently, there was talk of making him the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, but the party high command made it clear that Jai Ram Thakur would be the face of the party. On the other hand, the Congress has the family of Virbhadra Singh. There are leaders like Legislature Party leader Mukesh Agnihotri, former president Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Kaul Singh Thakur and Anand Sharma but the party does not trust anyone. Even after the absence of Virbhadra Singh, the Congress could not prepare a new leader, so under compulsion, Pratibha Singh has received the command.
