Mumbai: Following his removal as the Mumbai Youth Congress president, Zeeshan Siddiqui criticized the Congress party, alleging discrimination against minorities and branding the party as ‘communal’. Expressing his disappointment, Siddiqui, son of former Congress leader Baba Siddiqui, lamented the treatment of minority leaders within the party, questioning whether being Muslim was a liability in the Congress. He accused senior leaders of being unable to function freely, insinuating interference from within the party ranks. Siddiqui’s removal comes amidst a backdrop of political realignments, including his father’s recent departure from the Congress to join the NCP faction led by Ajit Pawar.
