Senior NCP MLA Jayant Patil was today suspended from Maharashtra Legislative Assembly till the conclusion of the winter session of Legislative Assembly for making unparliamentary remarks against Speaker Rahul Narwekar.
During his period of suspension, Patil has been prohibited from entering the premises of the Mumbai and Nagpur state legislature.
Raising strong objections to the remark made by Patil against Speaker Narwekar, Shamburaj Desai, a minister from the Eknath Shinde-led faction demanded suspension of the senior NCP MLA, after which State parliamentary affairs minister, Chandrakant Patil moved the motion to suspend Patil.
The motion was subsequently adopted by voice vote in the lower house.
