Chandigarh: In a move aimed at addressing the challenges posed by extreme weather conditions, Chief Minister Manohar Lal-led Haryana Government has made a significant decision in favor of farmers. The state government, renowned for its pro-farmer policies, has announced a modification in the timing of electricity supply to tube wells, enabling farmers to irrigate their fields during the daytime.

Acknowledging the difficulties faced by farmers due to severe cold conditions, Chief Minister Manohar Lal has directed the concerned authorities to implement a two-shift system for electricity supply to tube wells. This decision is expected to provide relief to farmers who have been grappling with weather-related challenges in recent days.

Under the new schedule, electricity will be made available to farmers in two shifts: from 5 am to 1 pm and from 10 am to 6 pm. The Chief Minister’s directive emphasizes uninterrupted power supply during these time frames, ensuring that farmers can efficiently irrigate their fields without hindrance.

The decision comes in response to persistent appeals from farmers across the state, who have been communicating their difficulties to the government amid adverse weather conditions. The Chief Minister’s proactive response to the farmers’ concerns reflects the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of the agricultural community.

This move is expected to alleviate the challenges posed by extreme weather and empower farmers to manage their irrigation schedules more effectively. By allowing daytime access to electricity for tube wells, the Haryana Government aims to enhance agricultural productivity and contribute to the well-being of the farming community.

The alteration in electricity supply timings is another example of the Haryana Government’s dedication to implementing farmer-friendly policies. This decision aligns with the government’s broader agenda of supporting the agricultural sector and ensuring the prosperity of farmers in the state.
