New Delhi: The Ministry of Mines has announced that Self-Help Groups (SHGs), supported by the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) and mining companies’ CSR initiatives, will be displaying their products at Dilli Haat for the next two months. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the significant contributions of SHGs to society.

In the mining sector, SHGs are increasingly utilized as platforms for developmental activities, supported by funding agencies and governmental bodies. This week, Kosala Livelihood and Social Foundation, backed by HINDALCO, Unnati Maha Sangh supported by BALCO, and Bajrangbali Aajivika Self Help Group funded by Sonbhadra district in Uttar Pradesh under DMF, are presenting their products.

The stalls were inaugurated by Farida M Naik, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines, who interacted with SHG members and praised the products crafted by women’s SHGs from DMF Sonbhadra and Unnati Maha Sangh, commending their efforts.

The DMF, established under the Mines & Minerals (Development & Regulation) Act’s 2015 amendment, operates across mining-affected districts to benefit local communities. Through DMF, various tribal SHGs produce a range of local products.

The Ministry of Mines regularly invites SHGs funded by DMF to showcase items like handicrafts, millet products, Tasar silk products, coir products, household bamboo furniture, dairy products, dry edibles, food masala, edible oils, and other similar items at periodic intervals.
